Every year, the Howard County Fair is a tradition that brings our community together. It's a chance to catch up with friends and neighbors, enjoy the fair, and most importantly, support the hard work of our local youth.
The livestock auction is one of the biggest highlights of the fair. Months before sale day, exhibitors are feeding, caring for, and working with their animals every day. They learn responsibility, time management, patience, and the value of hard work along the way. By the time they step into the sale ring, they've invested a lot of time and effort into their projects.
When businesses and community members bid and buy at the auction, they're doing more than purchasing livestock. They're showing these young people that their hard work matters. The money exhibitors earn often helps pay for next year's project, college expenses, or other future goals, making your support an investment in the next generation.
At Commercial Trust Company, we're proud to support the Howard County Fair Auction because we believe strong communities start with supporting local families and youth. Agriculture has always been an important part of Howard County, and the fair is a great reminder of the dedication and values that continue to shape our community.

One of our favorite parts of supporting the fair is getting to enjoy the products raised by these hardworking exhibitors. This year, our team enjoyed a delicious BLT lunch made with bacon we purchased from Asa Boulden through the Howard County Fair Auction. It was a great meal and an even better reminder of the impact our support has on local youth and agriculture.
Even if you're not able to purchase an animal yourself, there are still plenty of ways to show your support. Attend the fair, cheer on the exhibitors, or congratulate them on a job well done. Every bit of encouragement goes a long way.
We hope you'll join us in supporting next year's Howard County Fair Auction and helping recognize the hard work these young exhibitors put in all year long. It's one of the many ways we can give back to the community that supports us every day.
